New Packaging Machine Technology
Fuelled by consumer demand for low cost convenience
products, the demand for flexible packaging solutions continues to grow.
This is forcing both manufacturers and end users of packaging machines to
look for new ways to cut costs and improve efficiency in their the strive to
remain competitive.
 Analysing the kinematics of the
technology currently used on form, fill and seal (FFS) machines from a value
engineering perspective identified a key area of the design which can
restrict performance.
 The
resulting research project generated new end seal technology which promises
to significantly improve the price/performance of both horizontal and
vertical FFS machines while stimulating product differentiation by
providing new functionality not available with
existing technology.
